THE BRAND
Karen Islas is an independent Mexican brand established in Switzerland dedicated to create unique and custom-made swimsuits.
The designer’s goal is to give her costumers the opportunity to not only own a unique swimsuit, but also to wear the one they have always dream about it. Customers are involved during the creative process, they are able to choose from colors to shapes.
Karen Islas uses with high-quality fabrics, uniform solid-colored textiles, cutting edge prints and works with artisanal techniques, thus each swimsuit has a unique design tailored with detail perfection.
The brand is design to women from different ages who believe in quality and exclusive clothing and who want to feel comfortable, beautiful and self-confident.
THE DESIGNER
Karen Raquel Hernández Islas, designer and owner of the brand, born in the paradisiacal Mexican Caribbean. Since her childhood, the breathtaking Mexican beaches have influence her passion for swimwear.
In 2011, the designer changed the course of her life to pursue her passion for design and fashion, she established her brand which is named after herself.
Karen Islas studied fashion in Cancun and Argentina. However, she admits that her main inspiration remains Mexico, when designing she is an enthusiast of her country’s traditional colors, which are reflected in her creations.
The designer follow her partner and move to Switzerland where she currently lives and continues to work on her designing career.
